The Supreme Judicial Council on Tuesday dismissed a document circulating on social media that claimed to be an Interpol arrest warrant for Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari, calling it a total forgery.
The judiciary’s media office said in a statement that the document, which falsely claimed the Public Prosecution Presidency had requested Interpol to extradite al-Shammari, was completely fabricated.
The council warned the public against sharing fake government documents, adding that security forces are tracking down those responsible and that legal action will be taken against them.
