President Nizar Amedi said dialogue and mutual understanding remain essential in preventing crises during his meeting at Baghdad Palace with Turkish intelligence chief İbrahim Kalın.
The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA that “President Amedi received Kalın and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Iraqi National Intelligence Service chief Hamid Al-Shatri, as both sides discussed ways to strengthen coordination between Iraq and Turkey across key security and intelligence areas.
The statement added,“The meeting reviewed the latest regional and international developments, alongside efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in the security and intelligence fields in ways that safeguard the shared interests of both countries”.
“Dialogue and mutual understanding represent the fundamental pillars for containing crises,” President Amedi said, stressing the importance of unifying efforts in confronting cross-border challenges to safeguard shared security and help build a more stable environment across the region.
For his part, Kalın reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to maintaining close coordination and cooperation with Iraq across all sectors, while expanding avenues of collaboration between the relevant institutions of the two neighboring countries.
