PM Adviser Says Government Committed to Upholding Rule of Law, Safeguarding Public Funds

The Security Adviser to the Prime Minister Qasim al-Araji said on Sunday that the government remains committed to entrenching the rule of law and safeguarding public funds, stressing that the fight against corruption has evolved from mere rhetoric into a state policy that spares no one.

In a post on X followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), al-Araji said that "the government is moving ahead with entrenching the rule of law and protecting public funds," noting that "the government and judicial measures currently under way demonstrate that combating corruption is no longer merely a slogan, but rather a state approach that excludes no one."

He added that "any individual proven to be involved will be brought before the judiciary in accordance with the law, free from any considerations or pressures."

Al-Araji stressed that "the state will not retreat from pursuing anyone who has infringed upon public funds until the law takes its course and the rights of Iraqis are fully protected."
