Member of Parliament Habib al-Halawi affirmed on Saturday the existence of a broad Arab consensus and condemnation against Israeli aggression targeting countries in the region, emphasizing the Arab parliaments' rejection of any infringement on state sovereignty.

Speaking to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on the sidelines of his participation in the 8th Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, al-Halawi stated that "the conference witnessed a unified Arab stance condemning the repeated American and Israeli aggression against Islamic countries, particularly against neighboring Iran." He added that "the participants declared their categorical rejection of these aggressions, deeming them a blatant violation and transgression against state sovereignty."

He added that "the parliamentary delegations discussed a number of vital issues, foremost among them the Palestinian issue, where the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital was emphasized," noting that "everyone agreed on the need to continue and intensify political and humanitarian support for the Palestinian cause."
