Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, confirmed on Saturday that Iraq registered its reservation on the phrase "two-state solution" in the final statement of the Arab Parliamentary Conference.
A statement from the Speaker's Media Office, carried by the Iraqi News Agency (WAA), quoted al-Halbousi as saying, "Iraq registers its reservation on the term 'two-state solution' in the final statement issued by the Eighth Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments held in Cairo."
Al-Halbousi affirmed "Iraq's support for the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."
