Baghdad Operations Command-BOC announced on Friday the successful implementation of a security and coordination plan for the Ashura Pilgrimage.
In a statement, BOC said the plan to secure fixed and mobile mourning processions, as well as all religious rituals marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein and his family(PBUT) on the 10th day of Muharram, had been carried out successfully.
The command attributed the success of the operation to the efforts of security forces from the Ministries of Defense and Interior, alongside other security agencies.
It added that the commemorations were held in a stable and secure environment, highlighting the cooperation and joint efforts of citizens, as well as supporting service institutions and agencies, in providing services to pilgrims.
