Speaker of Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, departed for Cairo on Friday to participate in the 8th Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments.
The Speaker's Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Speaker of Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, accompanied by a parliamentary delegation, departed on an official visit to Cairo, the capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt."
The statement added that "the visit is to participate in the 8th Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments."
It noted that "the conference is scheduled to discuss a number of issues of common interest, in addition to exploring ways to enhance Arab parliamentary cooperation and coordinate positions on the issues and challenges facing the region."
