The First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Adnan Faihan Al-Dulaimi, confirmed today, Friday, that serving the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) is an honor and a national responsibility, and that securing this blessed pilgrimage is a trust that demands redoubled efforts and the highest levels of coordination among various security formations.

The Media Office of the First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Adnan Faihan Al-Dulaimi, conducted a visit to the Middle Euphrates Operations Command headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). During the visit, he met with the Operations Commander, Major General Ali Al-Hamdani, to review the level of security and field readiness, as well as the plans adopted to secure the Ashura pilgrimage. This aims to ensure the smooth movement and safety of the pilgrims, and to provide a secure environment for commemorating this significant religious occasion."

According to the statement, Faihan emphasized that "serving the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) is an honor and a national responsibility, and securing this blessed pilgrimage is a trust that necessitates redoubling efforts and fostering the highest levels of coordination among different security formations to ensure the protection of pilgrims' lives and the fluidity of their movement." He noted that "the efforts exerted by the security forces across their various branches and formations embody the scale of national commitment to safeguarding the security of the pilgrims and protecting the Hussaini rituals, which is highly appreciated and esteemed, and deserves all forms of support and backing to ensure the success of the designated security plans."

He added that "the Commander of the Middle Euphrates Operations in the PMF, Major General Ali Al-Hamdani, reviewed the measures taken to secure the pilgrimage routes, confirming the readiness of the units and the ongoing coordination with various security apparatuses and auxiliary entities to guarantee a safe and stable environment for the pilgrims throughout the days of the pilgrimage."
