Trump says Iran has agreed not to pursue nuclear weapons
US President Donald Trump said Iran has "agreed to that 100%" when it comes to not possessing a nuclear weapon, adding that Washington is negotiating with Tehran "from a position of absolute strength" following the recent conflict.
Trump also claimed the Strait of Hormuz remained open, saying a record 19 million barrels of oil transited the waterway on 23 June.
He added that the US would use some released Iranian funds to purchase American wheat, soybeans and corn for Iran, and repeated claims that US forces had inflicted devastating damage on Iran's military.
"Iran is very keen to make a deal with us and I think we might make a deal with them," he said, while dismissing reports suggesting Iran had emerged stronger as "fake news".
