President Nizar Amedi stated on Thursday that we must draw lessons from the uprising of Imam Hussein in continuing the process of nation-building and establishing justice.

The Presidential Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "President Nizar Amedi, in an address to the Iraqi people on the occasion of Ashura, emphasized the necessity of drawing upon the great lessons of the uprising of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in the process of nation-building, establishing security and stability, and upholding the rule of law. Foremost among these lessons are belief in reform, adherence to justice, respect for human dignity, prioritizing the public interest, and consolidating the values ​​of citizenship, coexistence, and national unity."

"The commemoration of Ashura not only calls for recalling the past but also motivates us to draw upon its noble values ​​in confronting the challenges of the present and shaping the future, thereby strengthening social cohesion, preserving national unity, and enshrining a culture of dialogue, tolerance, and cooperation among all citizens," he added.

“Muslims, despite their different doctrines and interpretations, are united in their love for the family of the noble Prophet, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, and in their respect for them and their pride in their high status in the history and conscience of the nation.” President Amedi confirmed.
