The Iraqi parliamentary delegation registered its reservations on certain clauses of the "Baku Declaration" on Thursday, while reaffirming its unwavering stance on Palestine.

The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the Iraqi parliamentary delegation, headed by First Deputy Speaker Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, registered its official reservations on certain clauses of the 'Baku Declaration' issued by the 20th session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, held in Baku, Azerbaijan."

In an official memorandum addressed to the Union's General Secretariat, the delegation affirmed "Iraq's adherence to its firm positions supporting the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people," expressing its reservations regarding the reference to "the two-state solution as it appears in the declaration, in accordance with the legislation and resolutions issued by the Iraqi Parliament supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and guaranteeing the right of return and compensation for the Palestinian people."

He requested that his reservation be officially recorded in the conference documents and minutes, while simultaneously expressing his gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan and the General Secretariat of the Union for their excellent hosting, organization, and success in the conference proceedings.
