Justice Minister Khalid Shawani discussed On Wednesday, with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Iraq, Talat Shaldanbay, the completion of procedures for signing a memorandum of cooperation in the areas of prisoner transfer and judicial and legal cooperation between the two countries.

A statement from the Ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “Minister of Justice, Khalid Shawani, received at the Ministry headquarters the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Iraq, Talat Shaldanbay, where the final stages of signing a memorandum of cooperation between the two countries in the areas of prisoner transfer and judicial and legal cooperation were discussed, which contributes to developing bilateral relations and exchanging experiences between the two sides.”

According to the statement, Shawani affirmed “the Republic of Iraq’s keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation with friendly countries and strengthen international partnerships in the judicial and legal fields,” noting that “these agreements represent an important step towards consolidating joint cooperation and exchanging experiences in a way that serves mutual interests and strengthens relations between the two countries.”

For his part, the Kazakh ambassador affirmed his country's desire to strengthen bilateral relations with Iraq in various fields, particularly in the judicial and legal aspects, praising the importance of the anticipated memorandum of cooperation and the legal framework it will provide, which will contribute to enhancing joint cooperation and strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two friendly peoples.
