Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Million-Person visit on Tuesday to follow up on the progress of Ashura visit plan. He also directed the preparation of a comprehensive security and service plan specifically for the Arba'een visit of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Nu'man, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Million-Person visit today, Tuesday, at the Joint Operations Command."

He added that al- Zaidi listened to a detailed briefing on the security plan for the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) on the tenth of Muharram, covering all routes used by visitors. He emphasized several important recommendations, foremost among them providing all the necessary resources for the success of this visit.

Al-Nu'man confirmed that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces stressed the importance of securing the transportation of visitors, as well as their return and other services, and mobilizing the efforts of all ministries and government departments.

Al-Nu’man continued, “The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces directed the preparation of a comprehensive security and service plan for the Arba’een of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) immediately after the end of the tenth of the month of Muharram,” stressing “at the same time the need to unify the media discourse, in a way that highlights the greatness of this occasion and the principles of the owner of this immortal memory, and to stay away from sectarian slogans and prejudices, and to emphasize the human values ​​carried by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), whose revolution was not limited to a religion or sect.”
