Iraq expressed solidarity with Qatar on Monday following the explosion at the Ras Laffan Industrial City.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the solidarity of the Republic of Iraq with the sisterly State of Qatar following the explosion that occurred in the Ras Laffan Industrial City, and the resulting injuries and losses," a statement issued by MOFA, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The Ministry affirmed, "the Republic of Iraq's full support for the government and people of Qatar during this painful time," expressing its sincere wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured and the safety of the missing.
MOFA expressed "its confidence in the ability of the competent authorities in the sisterly State of Qatar to deal with the repercussions of the incident efficiently and effectively," commending "the efforts exerted to protect lives and maintain the safety of vital facilities,” wishing the State of Qatar and its brotherly people continued security and stability.
The Ministry reiterated "Iraq's full solidarity with Qatar in facing the effects of this incident."
