Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, and General Michel Delpitle, Commander of French Special Forces, met at the Joint Operations Command headquarters on Saturday and affirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination, particularly in the areas of training, counterterrorism, and the exchange of expertise and intelligence.

A statement issued by the Joint Operations Command, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, met at the Joint Operations Command headquarters with the Commander of the French Special Forces, General Michel Delpit.

It pointed out that "during the meeting, discussions were held on strengthening cooperation and joint coordination and activating the memorandum of understanding signed between Iraq and France, especially in the areas of training, combating the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, and exchanging experiences and intelligence information to develop and enhance security capabilities and stability in Iraq, in a manner that does not conflict with the Iraqi constitution, regulations and laws in force."

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Al-Muhammadi emphasized the significant progress in bilateral security relations and cooperation, praising France's coordinating role and support in this area.

For his part, General Delpet expressed his admiration for the high level of competence and readiness demonstrated by the Iraqi armed forces, affirming his country's commitment to the continued strategic partnership between the two friendly nations.
