Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem confirmed on Friday his commitment to protecting Lebanon, clarifying that his weapons are aimed at the enemy.
In a press statement, Sheikh Qassem said, "We are going through the most dangerous phase in Lebanon, facing the most dangerous American-Israeli plot."
He added, "We are committed to protecting our country, and our weapons are aimed at the enemy," explaining that "the goal of the enemies' plot is to end the resistance project." He further stated that "the plan being implemented against us today aims to eliminate the resistance and its people, and to completely eradicate its presence in Lebanon."
He continued, "The enemy is trying to implement its plans through the criminal Israeli war on Lebanon, which disregards all rules of engagement in killing." He emphasized that "the enemy and America withdrew from the November 27th Agreement after the fall of Syria because they believed the balance of power had changed."
He explained, "Through their plan, they worked to make the political authority the front that carries out all actions leading to confronting the resistance." He continued, "The enemies wanted to close air, sea, and land crossings to prevent the arrival of weapons, technology, and anything that could strengthen the resistance."
He pointed out that "the plan aimed to prevent reconstruction so that people would remain displaced and the environment surrounding the resistance would turn against it," noting that "the enemies imposed a complete financial blockade so that we would not be able to address the situation or recover."
