Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein affirmed on Monday Iraq's commitment to continuing cooperation with UNICEF and supporting its efforts in serving children and promoting human development.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), indicated that "Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received the UNICEF Representative in Iraq, Christian Skoog, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters."

"During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Iraq and UNICEF and reviewed the programs and projects implemented by the organization in the areas of child protection, healthcare, and education in various Iraqi governorates."

According to the statement, Hussein emphasized Iraq's commitment to "continuing cooperation with UNICEF and supporting its efforts in serving children and promoting human development," stressing "the importance of providing a suitable environment to enable international organizations to implement their humanitarian and development programs."

For his part, the UNICEF representative expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the Iraqi government to the organization's work, affirming UNICEF's continued commitment to strengthening its partnership with Iraq and implementing its programs aimed at supporting children and youth throughout the country.

"Both sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation in order to achieve the best results for the beneficiaries of the organization's programs in Iraq."
