The Sadiqun parliamentary bloc announced on Monday that it has begun collecting signatures from members of parliament to include the draft Service and Retirement Law for the Popular Mobilization Forces on the parliamentary agenda.

A statement from the bloc, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), indicated that "a campaign will be launched to collect signatures from members of parliament to include the draft Service and Retirement Law for the Popular Mobilization Forces on the parliamentary agenda and proceed with its enactment."

The bloc emphasized that "enacting this law is a national entitlement and a matter of justice for the fighters of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the families of martyrs and wounded personnel. It will contribute to regulating the conditions of the members and guaranteeing their employment and retirement rights, in accordance with the status of the Popular Mobilization Forces and their role in defending Iraq and its holy sites."
