The Head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Secretary-General of Asaib Ahl al-Haq Sheikh Qais al-Khazali stressed on Saturday the need to preserve the unity of the Coordination Framework.
A statement issued by the media office of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said Al-Sudani met with Al-Khazali to discuss the overall domestic political situation as well as the latest developments in the region during a visit by Al-Sudani to Sheikh Al-Khazali.
The statement added that both sides stressed the importance of ongoing consultations among political blocs leading to an agreement that would ensure the completion of voting on the remaining cabinet positions and the fulfillment of this constitutional entitlement in a manner that strengthens government stability and supports the political process.
The two sides also underscored the need to preserve the unity of the Coordination Framework, unify national discourse and support the government's course at both the executive and legislative levels, in a way that ensures the continued delivery of services to citizens and the ongoing implementation of projects in line with the reconstruction and development objectives outlined in the government program.
