Ammar Al-Hakim, head of Hikma National Movement , said on Saturday that the The Fatwa of Sufficient Jihad (Al-Jihad Al-Kifa'i) played a key role in stopping the spread of terrorism and restoring stability.

Sayyid Al-Hakim said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “The Fatwa of Sufficient Jihad (Al-Jihad Al-Kifa'i) issued by the Supreme Religious Authority in 2014 was not merely a religious decree, but a historic response to a critical phase that nearly threatened the very existence of the Iraqi state.”

Al-Hakim added that, “On the humanitarian level, the fatwa emphasized the protection of civilians and the preservation of their dignity, and established firm ethical principles in combat,it embodied a clear message that the battle is not merely a military one, but also a struggle of values and principles, in which human beings and their rights are at the forefront.”

He concluded by saying, “A tribute of respect to all those who answered the call in defense of the homeland, and a message of pride to our security forces in all their branches, who have written epics of heroism and made sacrifices for Iraq’s security and stability.”
