The United States has accepted a text proposed by Iran as part of ongoing negotiations between the two countries, and the signing process is expected to begin soon, Iran's Fars News Agency reported on Thursday, citing informed sources.

Fars said the draft memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iranian delegations had been nearing completion about two weeks ago before U.S. President Donald Trump requested the inclusion of additional provisions in the text.

According to the sources, Iran informed the U.S. side that it would not consider the revised version, leading to a stalemate in the talks. The negotiations were further complicated by tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and southern Iran, as well as an attack on Beirut's southern suburbs, which contributed to freezing the negotiation process.

The sources said Qatar entered the mediation effort on Wednesday and informed Tehran that Washington had withdrawn the additional provisions it had previously sought to include.

According to the report, Trump sought through a media campaign and escalatory rhetoric to suggest that Iran had retreated under pressure from military operations. However, the sources said Tehran has yet to provide its final response and that it was Washington that ultimately returned to its previous position.

The sources added that the U.S. acceptance of the text proposed by Iran increases the likelihood that it will be approved by the relevant authorities within Iran's political system, potentially paving the way for a broader understanding between the two sides.
