US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he had decided to cancel the strikes on Iran that were scheduled to take place that evening, indicating that Iran had agreed to the final terms of the agreement with the United States.

In a post on Truth Social, which was monitored by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Trump said: "Because discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been raised to the highest levels of the Iranian leadership and have received approval, I, as President of the United States of America, have cancelled the planned strikes and bombing operations against Iran this evening."

"The discussions and final terms—both in principle and in minute detail—have been agreed upon by all concerned parties, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others," he added.

"The naval blockade will remain in full force and effect until this deal is finalised, and the date and location of the signing will be announced soon," he continued.
