CTS Announces Arrest of a Terrorist North of Baghdad

The Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) announced today, Thursday, the arrest of a terrorist in the district of Al-Tarmiyah.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Service said “The heroes of the Counter-Terrorism Service carried out a specialized operation based on precise intelligence information and continuous field surveillance, which resulted in the arrest of a terrorist in the Al-Tarmiyah district, north of Baghdad.”

The statement added that “This terrorist was operating within the so-called Anbar Province of ISIS and was involved in numerous terrorist activities targeting security forces and civilians. He later moved to Baghdad Governorate, where he resumed working with terrorist groups and held several positions within the ISIS terrorist organization, most recently serving as the commander of a security unit.”
