Iranian state television reported that explosions were heard in the southern areas of Bandar Abbas, Qeshm and Sirik.
State TV said sounds of explosions were heard and air defense systems were activated in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm and Sirik in Hormozgan Province in southern Iran.
The reports came after United States Central Command announced it had begun carrying out strikes against Iran.
