President Nizar Amidi emphasized today, Monday, the importance of concerted efforts by all relevant authorities and institutions to take the necessary measures and steps to provide electricity to citizens and improve the level of services.
The Presidential Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "President Nizar Amedi received the Parliamentary Committee on Electricity and Energy, headed by MP Falah Saeed Jarmat, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad."
"During the meeting, the current state of the electricity and energy sector in the country was discussed, along with ways to enhance the stability of electricity supply to citizens."
According to the statement, the President stressed "the importance of concerted efforts by all relevant authorities and institutions to take the necessary measures and steps to provide electricity to citizens and improve the level of services provided to them, as this is a fundamental priority that affects daily life and contributes to supporting economic development."
Amidi pointed to "the necessity of supporting renewable energy projects and expanding investment in its sources, in line with global trends in the field of sustainable development and contributing to the diversification of energy sources."
"The committee members reviewed the most prominent legislative and oversight plans and programs that the committee is working on to support the electricity and energy sector, stressing the importance of cooperation and coordination between the relevant authorities to overcome the existing challenges and achieve the aspirations of citizens."
