The Directorate of Military Intelligence announced today, Monday, the arrest of a drug dealer and the seizure of 10,000 narcotic pills in Anbar.
A statement from the Directorate, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), indicated that "the Military Intelligence Directorate continues its operations and programs, in accordance with the directives of the Director of Military Intelligence, which include eradicating the scourge of drugs and arresting dealers and traffickers. Based on precise intelligence and continuous monitoring by the Intelligence and Security Department of the 7th Infantry Division, in cooperation with the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Department in Al-Qaim District, Military Intelligence detachments were able to seize more than 10,000 narcotic pills in Anbar."
It added that "the pills were intended for smuggling and distribution, and in a separate operation, intelligence detachments from the same division arrested a drug dealer wanted under Article 28 of the Narcotics Law."
It continued, "The embargo will remain in place, fully in place and effective, until a final agreement is reached, and things must move quickly."
