Yemen and Palestinian groups praise Iranian missile strikes on Israel
Yemen’s Houthi-led foreign ministry in Sanaa and several Palestinian armed groups have welcomed Iran’s missile strikes on Israeli targets, describing the attacks as a response to Israeli actions in Lebanon and elsewhere in the region, according to statements carried by Iranian media.
In a statement, the group praised what it called a “heroic military operation” by Iranian forces and said the strikes demonstrated regional coordination among groups aligned against Israel.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem described the attack as an example of solidarity with the Lebanese people, while the Palestinian Resistance Committees said the strikes were a response to Israeli attacks on Beirut’s southern suburbs.
The statements followed Iran’s announcement that it had launched missile attacks on Israeli military targets, which Tehran said were conducted in self-defence.
