The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Numan, confirmed today, Friday, that the current military leadership remains in place and continues to carry out its duties.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Numan said “Some social media platforms have circulated reports claiming that changes have been made to senior positions within the military and security institutions.”

He added “Based on the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, we affirm that all rumors regarding the dismissal, appointment, or rotation of individuals in these positions are completely false and have no basis in reality.”

He explained that “The current leadership continues to perform its national duties and responsibilities with competence and professionalism, in accordance with the approved strategic plans aimed at maintaining security and stability.”

Al-Numan further called on all media outlets and social media users to exercise accuracy and caution and to rely exclusively on official sources for information. He also urged the public not to be misled by fake accounts or news reports from unidentified sources.
