Religious authority Sheikh Mohammed Al-Yaqubi on Thursday offered condolences over the death of Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammad Ishaq Al-Fayadh.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Yaqubi said: “We extend our condolences to the Islamic nation and to the religious seminaries on the passing of Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammad Ishaq Al-Fayadh, who devoted his life to research, teaching, and authorship, enriching Islamic scholarship with his works in jurisprudence, legal theory, and Islamic thought.”
He added that “a number of seminary scholars from various Islamic countries studied under his guidance,” noting that he “was known for his humility and close relationship with his students, encouraging them and supporting scholarly talent.”
He said Al-Fayadh’s works included “research and scholarly insights,” calling on scholars to give them due attention.
He concluded by announcing the suspension of religious lessons in mourning, praying for the deceased to be granted mercy and for his family, followers, and loved ones patience and solace.
