National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein emphasized on Thursday the need to support the Iraqi government’s efforts to serve Iraq’s best interests and strengthen its policy of openness toward brotherly and friendly countries.

Al-Araji said in a post on the X platform, monitored by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “I discussed with Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein the latest developments in the political and security situation at the regional and international levels.”

He added: “We stressed the need to support the Iraqi government’s efforts to achieve Iraq’s best interests by strengthening openness toward brotherly and friendly countries, a policy adopted within the government program.”

According to the post, both sides praised the exceptional efforts of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in strengthening and developing Iraq’s foreign relations based on the principle of balance, reflected in the consistent positions of Iraqi foreign policy regarding the challenges and conflicts in the Middle East region.
