The head of the Iraqi Foundation Coalition, Mohsen al-Mandalawi, offered his condolences on Thursday on the passing of Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyad.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), al-Mandalawi said, “With hearts believing in God’s decree and destiny, we extend our deepest condolences and sincerest sympathies to the Grand Ayatollahs, the Islamic nation, and the Iraqi people on the passing of the Grand Ayatollah, Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyad (may God sanctify his soul), who dedicated his life to serving the faith and the school of thought, disseminating the teachings of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), and teaching Islamic sciences.”

“The religious sphere, and the seminaries in particular, have lost a great scholarly figure with the passing of Sheikh al-Fayyad, a man of profound and influential intellectual legacy, a scholar specializing in the deep scientific approach to jurisprudence and its principles. He contributed significantly to enriching the seminaries and graduating generations of religious scholars, in addition to his wise and blessed stances that called for the unity of Muslims and the service of Islam throughout the world,” he added.

“We ask God Almighty to have mercy on him, to gather him with Muhammad and his pure family (peace be upon them all), and to grant his family, loved ones, students and followers patience and solace. There is no power nor strength except with God, the Most High, the Almighty,” he continued.
