The Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Álvarez, affirmed on Wednesday that the formation of the new Iraqi government represents an important opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations.
Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a congratulatory message from the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Álvarez, on the occasion of his reappointment and assumption of his duties as Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Álvarez expressed his “warmest congratulations to Fuad Hussein, wishing him success in his new duties and responsibilities,” emphasizing that “the formation of the new Iraqi government represents an important opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations between Spain and Iraq, which are bound by ties of friendship and cooperation.”
“It is important to continue joint efforts to address global and regional challenges based on respect for the rules of international law and international multilateralism,” he underscored.
The Spanish minister reiterated “his country's commitment to continued cooperation and coordination with Iraq to contribute to strengthening peace, security, and stability in the region,” expressing “his hope for developing prospects for cooperation between the two friendly countries in the coming period.”
He concluded his message by reiterating his congratulations to the minister, conveying his sincere wishes for his success in his duties, and emphasizing Spain's appreciation for the distinguished relations that unite the two countries.
