The U.S. Central Command announced the disabling of 6 commercial vessels and the redirection of 122 ships since the beginning of the blockade on Iranian ports.
The U.S. Central Command said in a statement that “U.S. forces have, since the start of the blockade on Iranian ports, disabled 6 commercial vessels and redirected 122 ships.”
It added that “U.S. forces disabled an empty oil tanker in the Arab Gulf that was heading toward one of the Iranian ports,” noting that “the tanker was flying the flag of Botswana, and its crew did not comply with instructions issued by U.S. forces.”
It indicated that “a U.S. aircraft carried out an operation to disable the tanker using a Hellfire missile targeting the engine room.”
