Iraqi Airways announced on Monday the suspension of its flights to Beirut due to the security situation and prevailing conditions in the region.
"Iraqi Airways wishes to inform its passengers that its flights to Beirut are currently suspended due to the security situation and prevailing conditions in the region, to ensure the safety of passengers," according to a statement from the company, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The statement added, "These measures are in accordance with the decisions and instructions related to air navigation safety."
"If approval is granted by the Crisis Cell and the relevant authorities to resume operations, Iraqi Airways will resume its flights to Beirut and announce flight schedules through our official channels," the statement included.
