The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that it had disabled five commercial vessels and redirected 116 others to ensure the enforcement of the blockade against Iran.
In a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Command said, "We disabled five commercial vessels and redirected 116 others to ensure the full implementation of the naval blockade against Iran."
"Yesterday, we also disabled a Gambian-flagged vessel that was attempting to breach the blockade by sailing toward an Iranian port," the statement added.
"We disabled the vessel after it failed to comply with the blockade by firing a missile at its engine room, which resulted in its being stopped," CENTCOM said.
