The Ministry of Oil announced on Saturday that gasoline production has increased to 40 million liters per day to meet rising demand.
Hussein Talib, Director General of the Oil Products Distribution Company under the Ministry of Oil, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the company had taken proactive measures to secure strategic reserves of petroleum products and gas in line with directives from the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, in preparation for periods of increased fuel demand, particularly during holidays and special occasions.
Talib explained that both premium gasoline and regular gasoline supplied to the domestic market are produced locally, noting that the available quantities are sufficient to meet local market requirements.
He added that the company experienced a significant increase in fuel demand during the Eid Al-Adha holiday due to heightened travel and mobility by families, indicating that additional quantities had been made available to cover the growing demand.
Talib further stated that the Oil Products Distribution Company normally supplies approximately 33 million liters of gasoline per day for domestic consumption. He noted that this figure had risen over the past two days to 40 million liters per day in order to meet increased demand and ensure the uninterrupted supply of fuel to citizens without bottlenecks.
