The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, affirmed on Thursday that Iraq has successfully overcome the political deadlock.
The media office of the head of the National State Forces Alliance stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “the head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, met with Ambassador Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadegh, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baghdad.”
“During the meeting, both sides emphasized the deep-rooted relations that bind the two neighboring countries and their friendly people,” the statement added.
Hakim praised the resilience of the Iranian people in the face of the challenges they are experiencing, emphasizing the need to end the war against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He stated that military escalation would only further complicate the situation and increase tensions in the region.
The statement continued, noting that regarding Iraq, Sayyid Hakim reviewed the current situation, affirming that Iraq had successfully overcome the political deadlock, formed a government, and moved forward in fulfilling its constitutional obligations while he pointed out that the current challenge is primarily economic and financial, given the decline in oil revenues.
