National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji affirmed on Wednesday that regional stability is related to respecting state sovereignty and rejecting the use of territories as arenas for conflict.

"During our participation in the first Moscow International Security Forum, we reviewed Iraq's positions on security issues and shared challenges, based on an approach that prioritizes dialogue, balance, and building partnerships that support international peace and stability. We also emphasized that regional stability depends on respecting state sovereignty and rejecting the use of territories as arenas for regional or international conflicts," al-Araji stated on X, followed up by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

He highlighted, "We discussed the importance of developing security partnerships based on the exchange of information, expertise, and modern technologies, and strengthening joint coordination in confronting cross-border threats, based on the understanding that regional security is a collective responsibility that requires cooperation, building trust, and pursuing shared interests, free from partisan alignments."

"Iraq's role as an active partner in supporting regional stability and consolidating paths of dialogue and openness was emphasized," he added.
