Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday congratulated the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states on the anniversary of the council’s founding, stressing that the security and stability of Arab Gulf states form an integral part of the Arab national security framework.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the ministry said that the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Iraq extends its sincere congratulations to the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council on the 45th anniversary of its founding, which falls on May 25, praising its role in strengthening cooperation, integration, and consolidating security and stability in the region.
The ministry affirmed, according to the statement, that “the security and stability of Arab Gulf states is an inseparable part of the Arab national security system,” adding that Iraq views Gulf security as an extension of its own national and regional security.
It reaffirmed Iraq’s support for enhancing fraternal relations and joint cooperation with Gulf States, in a way that contributes to regional stability and shared development, stressing the importance of prioritizing dialogue and understanding in addressing various issues and challenges to strengthen security and stability in the region.
