The Iraqi pavilion concluded its participation on Monday at the 79th Cannes Film Festival's film market.

The pavilion concluded its participation in the 79th Cannes Film Festival's film market, marking a new phase for Iraqi cinema based on institutional work and international openness. “This was achieved through strengthening cinematic partnerships, developing co-production projects, and supporting the global presence of Iraqi films,” said the Iraqi News Agency - INA reporter.

The participation included organizing Iraqi-French co-production meetings in cooperation with the French National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image, within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed at the end of 2025. Additionally, eight feature and documentary projects were selected for support and connection with international funding and distribution networks.

The professional program included screenings of prominent Iraqi films, such as 'The Station' by director Sara Ishaq and 'The President's Cake,' as examples of Iraqi and Arab cinema reaching international platforms while preserving local identity.

The Iraqi participation has strengthened its regional and international presence through cooperation with MAD Solutions and the Arab Cinema Center, which contributes to supporting the marketing of Iraqi projects and expanding their global presence.
