U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the United States would be ready for serious negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear file once the Strait of Hormuz is reopened.
Speaking to The New York Times, Rubio said, “It is impossible to resolve the nuclear issue within 72 hours… The strait must be reopened immediately, and then, according to the agreed standards, we will begin very serious negotiations on enrichment, enriched uranium, and their commitment to never possessing a nuclear weapon.”
His remarks come amid media reports suggesting the possibility of the United States and Iran reaching a temporary agreement concerning the nuclear program and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
