Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani congratulated Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on Sunday on his reappointment as Foreign Minister, praising Iraq's role in supporting regional stability.
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a congratulatory message from Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on his reappointment as Foreign Minister of the Republic of Iraq."
In his message, the Italian Minister expressed his "sincere congratulations to Minister Fuad Hussein," affirming his "confidence in continuing to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Italy, building upon the partnership and joint coordination achieved in various fields over the past years."
Tajani noted "the importance of the role played by Iraq in supporting regional stability," commending "the efforts of Iraqi diplomacy, under the leadership of Fuad Hussein, in promoting dialogue and building peace in the Middle East, especially in light of the regional tensions witnessed in recent months."
He affirmed his country's continued support for Iraq and Rome's solidarity with Baghdad in its efforts to strengthen democracy, the economy, and state institutions.
Tajani reiterated his desire to continue joint work with Iraq in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries, wishing Minister Fuad Hussein success in his duties.
