UK welcomes progress on US-Iran talks
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcomed reports of progress in talks for a potential agreement between Iran and the US.
Posting on X, Starmer said the world needed "to see an agreement that brings the conflict to an end and opens the Strait of Hormuz."
“We will work with our international partners to seize this moment and achieve a long-term diplomatic settlement," said Starmer.
The UK Premier also said it was "vital" that Iran is prevented from developing a nuclear weapon.
His comments echo remarks made earlier by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio who told reporters in India that Iran would "never" be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.
