The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Nu'man, confirmed that the special committee investigating the attacks on Saudi Arabia and the UAE will analyze data and evidence in cooperation with both countries, and that there are no immediate deadlines for the results. While emphasizing that the security of brotherly nations is a red line, he also noted that restricting weapons is a necessary security strategy.
Al-Nu'man told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The special committee investigating the attacks on Saudi Arabia and the UAE, formed by order of the Commander-in-Chief, is a high-level committee with a specialized intelligence and technical focus. Its field mission is to analyze and match data, forensic evidence, and radar data in direct cooperation with our brothers in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi."
He added, "In military and security practice, sovereign investigations are not subject to hasty media timelines, but rather to meticulous calculations that ensure the full truth is revealed. We affirm today, with the utmost responsibility, that this committee is operating with full authorization, and its findings will be presented to the Commander-in-Chief and the public as soon as they are completed, with complete transparency."
He emphasized that "the official narrative of the Iraqi state is clear and unambiguous: the security of our brothers is a red line, and the rule of law applies without exception. Should the involvement of any party or individual be proven, the measures will not be limited to legal prosecution alone. Our armed forces will treat this act as a threat to Iraqi national security and a blatant violation of sovereignty."
He continued, "The state will not allow any positions that contradict its sovereign decision, and anyone proven to be involved will bear the full legal and military consequences in accordance with the Counter-Terrorism Law and applicable military laws."
