Iraqi National Security Service (INSS) announced on Friday the seizure of (300) smuggled electrical transformers inside a garage in Baghdad.
A statement from INSS, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "based on accurate intelligence information, detachments of the National Security Service in Baghdad were able to seize (300) smuggled electrical transformers inside a garage in the capital, Baghdad, after a field follow-up and monitoring operation that lasted for a period of time."
It explained that "the operation resulted in the discovery and seizure of the entire smuggled shipment, as well as the arrest of two suspects caught in the act, and the necessary legal measures were taken against them in accordance with the law."
According to the statement, INSS affirmed its "continued intelligence and field efforts to pursue smuggling networks and those manipulating the national economy, and to take deterrent measures against violators."
