U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Thursday that U.S. forces “rerouted 94 commercial vessels and disrupted 4 others” in the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM said in a statement posted on its official account on X that the steps were taken “as part of enforcing the blockade aimed at preventing the flow of commercial traffic to and from Iranian ports.”

It added: “As of May 21, U.S. Central Command forces have rerouted 94 commercial vessels and disrupted 4 others as part of enforcing the blockade aimed at preventing the flow of commercial traffic to and from Iranian ports.”

In a related development, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval forces said on Thursday that 31 commercial vessels, oil tankers and container ships had passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours, in coordination with Iranian authorities.
