The Coordination Framework-CF said on Wednesday it had decided to move forward with completing the ministerial cabinet after the Eid holiday, while calling on security agencies to finalize ongoing investigations and take the necessary measures to safeguard Iraq’s security and sovereignty.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Coordination Framework said it had held an “important and emergency” meeting at the office of Hadi al-Amiri, attended by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, to discuss political developments and upcoming entitlements.
The statement said participants began the meeting by congratulating the prime minister on winning parliament’s confidence vote, expressing their wishes for success in carrying out his national duties and serving the Iraqi people.
The Attendees also reaffirmed the unity and cohesion of the Coordination Framework and stressed their commitment to continuing joint efforts aimed at strengthening political stability and protecting the country’s higher interests, the statement added.
The participants also expressed appreciation for the efforts made by former Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani during his tenure, particularly in the areas of public services and implementation projects, which the statement said had received broad public support.
The Coordination Framework confirmed its decision to proceed with completing the cabinet formation after the Eid holiday in accordance with constitutional procedures and national understandings.
On security and regional matters, the group reiterated its rejection of any attack or aggression targeting neighboring or Arab countries, stressing the importance of respecting state sovereignty and preventing further regional tensions.
It also called on security agencies to complete ongoing investigations and take the necessary steps to ensure the protection of Iraq’s security and sovereignty.
