The Ministry of Education announced on Tuesday the launch of work to prepare a comprehensive institutional reform paper, which includes an accurate diagnosis of problems and the development of implementable solutions.

The ministry’s media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “following a meeting between Minister of Education Abdul Karim Aftan Al-Jubouri and senior educational leadership, during which a one-week deadline was set to complete the requirements for preparing the comprehensive institutional reform paper, the formed committee has begun holding an expanded meeting chaired by the Undersecretary for Scientific Affairs, Mahdi Saleh Al-Awadi, with the participation of general directors at the ministry’s headquarters, to discuss the reform form and its implementation components.”

The statement added that “the meeting included a detailed review of the form’s content, which contained an accurate diagnosis of the main challenges and problems facing the work of directorates, identifying points of weakness precisely, and presenting practical and applicable solutions at various administrative and technical levels, aimed at improving institutional performance and enhancing output efficiency.”

It continued that “the attendees stressed the importance of unifying visions and proposals within an integrated practical framework consistent with the deadline set by the minister, in preparation for its completion and submission by the relevant departments to the higher specialized committee, with the aim of formulating it into a medium-term executive reform program.”

The ministry’s Undersecretary for Scientific Affairs stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of adhering to the specified timeline for completing the reform paper and working in a team spirit,” noting that “the committee’s outputs will be submitted to the Minister of Education for review and adoption within the ministry’s approved reform tracks.”
