US President Donald Trump suggested on Tuesday that an agreement with Iran is likely to be reached soon, while also indicating that Iran would be attacked again if no agreement is reached.

Trump said in a press conference, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "I was one hour away from making a decision to strike Iran today," adding, "We may have to launch a major strike against Iran."

He added that "the US military may need to launch a major strike against Iran to reach a peace agreement that ends the war," noting that "I will wait two or three days to make a decision regarding striking Iran."

He stated that "Iran has a limited ability to retaliate," emphasizing, "We will attack Iran again if we don't reach an agreement."

He added, "There will be a breakthrough very soon, whether through military means or through an agreement with Iran," predicting that "an agreement will be reached very soon."
