Local sources reported on Monday an active shooting incident near a mosque at an Islamic center in the Clairemont area, northeast of San Diego, United States, with initial reports of injuries.
The San Diego Police Department received a report at around 12:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) of an armed individual at the Islamic Center located at 7050 Eckstrom Avenue.
Police confirmed on the platform “X” that they were responding to an “active shooter” incident, urging residents to avoid the area and remain indoors.
The police said that “the threat was neutralized after an armed individual stormed the Islamic center in the city.”
